Prostitution Law: The Legality of the Streets, the Escorts, and the Massage Industry.

Hello to my 82 readers in the world. I bet you missed the Random Sex Life, well now it is back in action. To start, I will be posting a series of features on the subject of prostitution and the law. I am not a lawyer. I am a human being and citizen that tries to abide by the law as much as possible.

In the past, I have been very opposed to illegal prostitution, but I have been undecided as to whether prostitution should be legalized or not. This is an issue that is straight down the middle when it comes to pros and cons.

However, something began to change my view when it came to prostitution.

Once upon a time, I was in one of those countries that doesn't speak English. On the weekends, I frequently went for relaxing and traditional massage (non-sexual in anyway). I had read about a new massage parlor online that did not promote any sexual services (who does anyway?) and I went looking for it at the metro station. I walked around for about 20 minutes, and I couldn't find the place. I happened to come across another massage parlor in my path, and I thought "Well, this is as good as any." I walked inside, and they didn't speak English, the two women working the desk just asked me "massage?" and I said yes.

Then, after showering, they brought me to a room with a bed, and gave me a girl :p.

It changed my view on prostitution because I wanted to know where did any prostitution take place?
I didn't ask her to do anything, nor encourage her to do anything sexual. She didn't even speak English. She just did it. I didn't go there looking for it. I didn't even pay anticipating it. I wanted to know, where did I break the law? I didn't tell her to stop, but I didn't tell her to go ahead with any sexual service either.

It changed my view on "payment / donations are for time only and anything that occurs is a consensual act between two adults." Perhaps, this does in fact completely alter the legality of it in a true respect.

I will go out on the limb and say that I believe I did not break the law in anyway, and I do not see how one can penalize individuals that are not breaking that law.

Therefore, using escort services and massages with happy endings are not illegal. If all you have to do is change the phrasing about what goes in the bedroom, hotel, or massage table, then there is a legal way out of any trouble. Thus, it's not illegal. I almost felt like, why is prostitution illegal when there is such a giant way around the law?

Comment Questions of the Day:
1. Did I break the law in the occasion that I mentioned?
2. Do you believe escorting and sensual touch massage are illegal or there is a loophole around the law?
3. Should prostitution in the USA be legalized?
