Prostitution in China: A New Book in the Works

This blog has been gathering dust. A big shout out to anyone who has read it over the years.
About four years ago, I created this thing to anonymously share experiences...because I thought it would be something interesting. The last thing I wrote before this long hiatus was to talk about prostitution and the law.

I have spent almost five years in China now, so if we are going to be writing what we know, let's talk about Prositution in China...over the last few months, I've toyed with writing a book about prostitution in China. I get about 3 new ideas for books every single week, and maybe only 4 of them have ever turned into anything substantial. One of the largest reasons why I get held back is because I do not often write books...I am not a professional writer. Most of the work I have circulating around the internet is on the blogospehre. My writing isn't perfect. In fact, a lot of it is horseshit...but still there are some experiences to share all the same.

That brings us to this next point. As early as 2015, I began to wonder why prostitution is not more widely discussed in China. Nations like Thailand are notorious for sex tourism and have earned an international reputation for prostitution. I was wondering why it was not the case with China. Prostitution is widely practiced, very easily available, and it can even be low cost.

Over the years, I've started to learn the Chinese language...by that I mean Mandarin. My Cantonese is non-existent, and I began to keep in contact with a lot of my regular prostitutes. By that I mean, I am also including massage girls, anyone who gets a little bit kinky. Not only is prostitution widely available in China, but social media is much larger in the western world. People do not seem as afraid of adding someone to their page.

I am toying with the idea of releasing a series of blog posts on Prostitution in China. Since it would be in blog format, and I am a very scatterbrained individual, it might work more easily than in a traditionally published book-style presentation.

Even as early as tomorrow, perhaps I can compose a small chapter 1.
However, one of the motivations behind a project like this is not only to tell people some dirty secrets, and it is not only to recommend places where guys can secure contacts for personal use. Believe it or not, there is almost a sense of academic value...at least in intention with covering a subject like this.

If we are going to learn about China and about Asia, we can not censor ourselves. We need to present all sides of the equation. It would not be fair to dig deep when talking about Thailand, but leave things on the surface when it comes to China.

Look out for more updates on Prostitution in China.
